What testing of Luscent's light platform showed
The controlled study used Luscent's flat mat with the same 660nm and 850nm wavelengths. These figures describe that study and Luscent's broader home-use survey. The wrap-around blanket format has not been trialled separately.
*The home-use figures come from a broader post-purchase survey of Luscent Red customers. Study LUM-RIM-2024-02 evaluated the flat mat using the same 660nm and 850nm wavelengths. Individual results vary.
Us vs. Them
Not overhyped or overpriced. Just comprehensive therapy made safe and accessible for everyone.
What clinicians say about the full-body blanket
We work with practitioners in dermatology, photobiomodulation research, and aesthetics. Here is their take on the device.

Diane Baker, MD
Board-Certified Dermatologist
Verified clinicianWrap-around coverage gives users a practical way to expose the front and back during one home session.

Dr. Brooks
Photobiomodulation Researcher, Stanford
Verified clinicianThe 660nm and 850nm wavelengths sit within the ranges commonly used in photobiomodulation research. The wrap-around format makes broad coverage easier at home.

Elena Maris, DDS
Cosmetic Facial Aesthetics Specialist
Verified clinicianFor full-body sessions, the main advantage of this format is broad, consistent coverage without standing in front of a rigid panel.
Any Last Questions?
Daily works best. Most clinical protocols run 15 to 20 minutes per session, five to seven days a week. Consistency over weeks is what produces lasting results, which is why the blanket stays somewhere you'll see it, not in a cupboard.
Light cotton is fine. Bare skin is better. Thick fabric blocks light before it reaches you, which defeats the purpose.
Some people notice short-term relaxation after early sessions. Recovery, mobility, sleep, and skin changes usually require a consistent routine over several weeks. Individual results vary.
Yes. 660nm and 850nm light at these intensities is non-thermal and non-invasive, and daily use is well supported in published research. If you have a specific medical condition, check with your healthcare provider first.
Yes. 850nm near-infrared reaches about 40 mm deep, which covers most joint structures including knees, hips, and shoulders. The evidence base for near-infrared light in joint pain spans multiple peer-reviewed studies.
Published research supports 660nm and 850nm light for muscular pain, joint inflammation, post-exercise soreness, chronic lower back pain, sleep disturbance, and skin health. The blanket is a wellness device: for specific medical conditions, talk to your doctor.
About one cent of electricity per session. A full year of daily use costs less than one takeaway coffee.
Skip the blanket if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have photosensitive epilepsy, or use an active medical implant such as a pacemaker or insulin pump. Check with your doctor first if you take photosensitive medication or have an eye condition. If anything feels wrong during a session, stop and seek advice.
Email info@luscentred.com with your order number and a description of the fault. The 2-year warranty covers all LEDs and hardware in normal use: we repair or replace, your choice of outcome where possible.
Disconnect the controller, then wipe the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Let it dry fully before folding it loosely for storage. Never submerge the blanket or controller.
They're working. Roughly half the diodes emit 850nm near-infrared light, which sits just outside what human eyes can see. The red glow you notice is the 660nm half. If a section looks dimmer than the rest, that's the invisible wavelength doing the deep-tissue work.
